General Motors Fights Off Retaliation Claim Over Cursing at Work - Bloomberg Law

General Motors got most of an employee’s federal retaliation suit tossed on summary judgment, and an amendment to New York’s Human Rights Law means they could face some claims in state court.

Barbara Green, who is Black, filed a complaint in March 2020 with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that she was suspended for violating a profanity policy she wasn’t told about when she started a machine repair job at Tonawanda, NY, but White employees were warned before the start of their employment.
