What’s Happening at GM?
General Motors (GM) is slashing more than 3,400 positions in response to new electric-vehicle (EV) policies under US President Donald Trump and sluggish demand.
According to reports, the automaker’s “Factory Zero” assembly plant in Detroit, Michigan will be the hardest hit, with around 1,200 jobs axed.
The update comes as GM is ending production of its BrightDrop electric delivery vans at its assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario.
According to LinkedIn, the company currently employs more than 4,300 workers in Canada.
