Nigerian gospel artiste, Minister Lilian Nneji, has alleged that some individuals within the gospel music industry are deliberately sabotaging her career by giving event organisers false information about her availability and whereabouts.
Nneji made the allegation in an emotional video shared on her social media platforms, where she broke her silence over what she described as persistent attempts to prevent her from receiving invitations to minister at programmes.
According to the singer, she recently discovered that some organisers had wanted to invite her for events but were discouraged after being given misleading information by people they contacted.
She said she had encountered about four people within a week who told her they had been unable to invite her because they were informed that she had travelled, was on vacation or was unavailable.
“For the past one week, I have met about four persons in different places, and whenever they see me, I hear words like, ‘Oh, Minister Lilian, you are in town? We had a program, and we wanted to invite you. We reached out to some persons, and they said to us, you have travelled, you are on vacation,’” she said.
Nneji said she was particularly concerned that some individuals claimed she was on tour despite having made no such announcement.
