Government Accountability Project Sponsors Justice Connection: A New Initiative to Support DOJ Civil Servants Under Attack
WASHINGTON – Government Accountability Project is proud to announce its fiscal sponsorship of Justice Connection, a new initiative by Stacey Young. Stacey left the Department of Justice (DOJ) last week after an 18-year career as an attorney.
Intimidation from the administration led Stacey, on her way out, to shutter the DOJ Gender Equality Network (DOJ GEN), an employee advocacy organization she founded in 2016 and also ran. DOJ GEN’s tireless advocacy campaigns achieved groundbreaking policy reforms that made the Department a safer, healthier, and fairer place to work.
Justice Connection is being launched amid a head-spinning onslaught of firings, demotions, reassignments of DOJ personnel, and other punitive actions. Justice Connection is building a network of DOJ alumni to help employees by providing support such as legal advice and whistleblower guidance, assistance when employees are doxed or harassed online, and employment aid if they feel like they need to leave their jobs or are forced out. The organization will also fight against draconian legislation that would harm civil servants and push back on the “deep state” narrative that fuels so much of this vitriol.
