Government names and shames Leicester employers underpaying staff in clear breach of National Minimum Wage Law - Leicestershire Live

Employers across the country have been named and shamed by the UK government for failing to properly pay staff - eight of which are in the Leicestershire area.

Claudia Webbe, member of parliament for Leicester East, has called out the government for not doing more.

Across the country, 208 businesses were outed by the government on Thursday, December 9 for failing to pay workers 1.2 million in a clear breach of National Minimum Wage law, leaving around 12,000 workers out of pocket.

Among those named in Leicestershire are listed out below:

  • Guy Bacon Electrical Limited, an electrical installation company that dissolved in October last year. They failed to pay 3,674 to 1 workers between September 2014 and March 2017.
  • Magnum Care Limited, a residential nursing company, failed to pay 22,711 to 174 workers between March 2014 and June 2018.
  • Maryland Chicken, the trading name for Yarr Ltd, failed to pay 21,090 to 16 workers between September 2016 and August 2018.
  • CSP Recruitment, the trading name for Nourish Training Ltd, failed to pay 9,262 to 81 workers between October 2014 and March 2016.
  • Maryland Chicken, trading name for Muzzy Foods Ltd, failed to pay 3,244 to 6 workers between August 2016 and August 2018.
  • Apparel Trading Ltd, a women's clothing factory, failed to pay 2,671 to 51 workers between April 2017 and September 2017.
  • Leicester Motors Limited, a garage, failed to pay 1,981 to 2 workers between April 2017 and July 2018.
