District Administrator
The Chowan Basin Soil and Water Conservation District is accepting applications for the position of District Administrator. This full-time position will provide leadership to District Operations and financial management. Primary duties include accounts receivable/payable and preparing budgets, and administrative tasks: daily administrative support and the promotion, planning, and implementation of the District’s programs, assisting with the development and implementation of the annual and long-term plans, serving as a primary resource for the District Board of Directors, policies, and practices; the successful candidate will also cultivate relationships with key local and regional leaders, conservation organizations and a wide variety of stakeholders; serving as primary contact for the County Board of Supervisors, County Administrators, and County staff.
Applicants must have a college degree or the equivalent in education and work experience Requirements for the position include proficient computer skills including QuickBooks, Microsoft Word and Excel, the ability to work independently and in a team environment, multitask, prioritize, be a self-starter, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Salary consideration will be given for experience, qualifications, and certifications. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a federal background check.
