Dr Maitiú Ó Tuathail – last week cleared after a two-year garda inquiry – insisted Chay Bowes, the interim National Association of GPs CEO, then said: ‘We owe Leo one’

Maitiú Ó Tuathail, the family doctor who received a confidential GP contract document from Leo Varadkar, has claimed Chay Bowes, the troubleshooter brought in to the scandal-hit National Association of General Practitioners (NAGP), urged him to obtain the paperwork .

Dr Ó Tuathail said Mr Varadkar leaked the document — marked “Confidential” — and afterwards Chay Bowes, who was brought in as interim CEO to overhaul the organisation, said: “We owe Leo one.”
