Grassley Asks DOJ to Explain Unwanted False Claims Act Suits - Bloomberg Law News

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is concerned that the US Department of Justice is being too aggressive with its authority to seek dismissal of False Claims Act suits it views as meritless or burdensome, according to a recent letter.

FCA whistleblowers help DOJ recover billions of dollars each year from their anti-fraud suits, but DOJ can intervene in a whistleblower suit and secure dismissal with relative ease if the department doesn’t think a suit serves the public interest.
