Greg Lindberg’s Attorneys Respond To Mike Causey’s False Claims About Lindberg’s Compliance With Court Order - Baltimore Post-Examiner

Durham NC November 21 2022: Today Greg Lindberg’s attorneys responded to recent court filings by agents of North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey. Susan Estrich, an attorney and spokesperson for Lindberg, says that Causey’s most recent filing is “full of assumptions, suppositions, presumptions, guesswork, conjecture and more holes that I can count.”

“Mike Causey continues to file baseless and unproductive litigation to try to cover up his real agenda — blocking the sale of Greg Lindberg’s North Carolina insurers,” says Lindberg.

To cite one example, Causey recently claimed in a court filing that Lindberg had the personal benefit of the Global Growth company plane while in prison. “This is Exhibit A of Causey’s false claims: claiming that I had personal benefit from use of the company plane while I was in prison. How could I possibly have used the plane while I was in prison?” Lindberg says.

In recent court actions, Causey also has sought to disband a court-appointed independent Panel established to approve various transactions. “Causey does not want an independent Panel overseeing transactions because the independent Panel is doing the right thing for policyholders,” Lindberg says.
