Grin and Bear It? Why Smile Policies Could Be a Litigation Risk - Law.com

When I heard recent news reports about a policy at Target forcing employees to smile when within 10 feet of a customer, my first thought was that I’m lucky reporters don’t have to put on a happy face. I’d be in deep trouble if my livelihood depended on my ability to smile at will. I’ve got a chubby face and when someone tells me to smile, it looks forced.
