A Gurugram-based UX designer has opened up about his ordeal in the aftermath of the uproar caused by Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash’s suicide. In a series of LinkedIn posts, the man accused his wife of harassment through false allegations of dowry and domestic violence. He claims that he and his wife began living separately just six months into their marriage. Despite this, his wife is now demanding 1.5 lakh as monthly maintenance and 1 crore as compensation.

The man married his wife in May 2023 in Delhi. Shortly after the wedding, he lost his job. Meanwhile, the couple discovered that they were expecting their first child.
In one LinkedIn post, the man alleges that his wife began pressuring him to find a new job. “After a few days, I got to know that I was going to become a father, but my wife forced me to get a job as soon as possible, anywhere in the world,” he wrote.
After five months of searching, the man secured a job in Bengaluru in November 2023. However, his wife refused to move to Bengaluru with him, citing her pregnancy. Instead, she returned to her parents’ home.
“She promised to join me later but refused when I came to Delhi in December 2023 to bring her back,” the man said.
