A court in Ibiza has sentenced a woman to 15 months and one day in prison for making false public accusations against Guy Gerber, confirming that the alleged rape she described on social media never occurred.

The ruling, issued by Criminal Court No. 1 of Ibiza, concluded that the woman knowingly fabricated claims that Guy Gerber drugged and sexually assaulted her in Mykonos in 2013. Judges found that she acted with full awareness that her allegations were false, while using social media virality to damage the artist’s reputation. Her original Instagram post spread to over 900,000 accounts, triggering widespread backlash and professional consequences for Gerber.

Judge Clara Ramírez de Arellano stated that the defendant deliberately attributed a crime of rape to Gerber despite knowing it never happened. The court highlighted several inconsistencies, including the absence of any police report, medical examination, toxicology test, or contemporaneous witness accounts. Despite working in a legal environment and having access to legal counsel, the woman never reported the incident to authorities.

The court also ordered the full publication of the sentence on the defendant’s social media platforms for six months, citing the scale of reputational harm caused through online dissemination.
