The Palestinian resistance group Hamas rejected the false accusations made by the U.S. Central Command, alleging that the resistance had been “looting an aid truck.”
“These baseless claims are entirely unfounded and come as part of an attempt to justify the further reduction of already limited humanitarian aid, while covering up the international community’s failure to end the blockade and starvation imposed on civilians in the Gaza Strip,” stated Hamas.
Hamas noted that the police and security forces in Gaza have sacrificed more than 1000 martyrs, while hundreds were wounded to secure humanitarian aid convoys and ensure that assistance reaches those in need.
“All manifestations of chaos and looting ended immediately after the withdrawal of the occupying forces—proving that the occupation was the only party that sponsored these gangs and orchestrated the chaos accompanying its presence.”
“We affirm that none of the international or local institutions, nor any driver working with the aid convoys, has filed any report or complaint about such an incident. This clearly demonstrates that the scene cited by the U.S. Central Command is fabricated and politically motivated to justify blockade policies and the reduction of humanitarian support,” added Hamas.
Hamas further reiterated its dedication to supporting and helping the besieged Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
