Universal Helicopters Inc. and Dodge City Community College have agreed to pay $7.5 million to resolve allegations that they violated the False Claims Act by making false statements to the US Department of Veterans Affairs regarding their helicopter flight instructor training program, according to the DOJ Monday.
UHI and DC3 allegedly falsely certified compliance from 2013 to 2018 with the 85/15 Rule. The program received financial assistance as part of the Post-9/11 GI Bill from the VA, the department said.
The case is Rowe v. Dodge City Community College, D. Kan., No. 18-cv-01113-TC-GEB, 8/15/22.
