In recent days, rumors have been circulating online that claim the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club is headed to Aurora, Colorado en masse to fight off the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang alleged to have taken over multiple local apartment complexes.
The rumor spread like wildfire, with posts online said to capture groups of motorcyclists en route to the location.
In response to these claims, the Rocky Mountain chapter of the Hells Angels posted a statement on social media disputing what has been said.
"A social media rumor claiming that the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC) is headed to Aurora, Colorado to violently confront Venezuelan immigrants has gone viral. Most of these posts regurgitate this lie, and attempt to validate it with a video of motorcycles riding in an organized pack," reads the response from the group. "The HAMC strongly denies the foundation and validity of these absolutely ridiculous and false claims. The HAMC does not involve itself in political issues outside of motorcycling and takes no stance on the issue of immigration or the presidential election."
The statement goes on to note that the club concerns itself "only with motorcycle enthusiasm and benefitting the communities the club resides in."
According to the club, the "false and irresponsible narrative" included in the posts that were made related to the rumor are merely an engagement play. The club also called out how the claims may perpetuate negative stereotypes about club members.
