High Court orders protection for whistleblower in multi-crore Torres scam case - India Today

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday directed Mumbai Police to provide protection to Abhishek Gupta, a whistleblower who exposed the multi-crore Torres investment scam, while criticising the police for their lethargy in investigating the case.

A bench of Justices Revati Mohite-Dere and Dr Neela Gokhale expressed shock at the handling of the probe by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), calling out delays that may have allowed key accused to flee the country.
