ALBANY — Gov. Kathy Hochul recalled the story of her grandfather coming from Ireland to South Dakota, where he found a job as migrant farmworker in 1919. Her grandmother, a domestic worker in Chicago, and grandfather would move to New York. They heard "there were great jobs" at a steel plant in Buffalo, she said.
