NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Hundreds of people are now asking that their names be removed from a petition that seeks to end auto racing at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, claiming they were given deceptive information.

A community coalition called Restore Our Fairgrounds had the petition certified in June in an attempt to remove “auto racing” as a required activity at the fairgrounds. Instead, the group wants to replace the racing requirement with the term “affordable housing and/or workforce housing.” It also requires that the Fair Board continue to host fairs, expo center events and flea markets.
