The HYDRA Commissioner has clarified that HYDRA will not interfere with houses built in old layouts on ULC (Urban Land Ceiling) lands , nor with unregularised vacant plots in such layouts. He urged citizens not to believe false propaganda being spread by certain land grabbers attempting to acquire plots at lower prices by misusing HYDRA’s name.
HYDRA stated that it will only safeguard lands earmarked for public purposes , such as roads, parks, and civic amenities , within ULC layouts. However, it made clear that encroachments on such designated spaces will be removed .
The Commissioner reiterated that houses constructed before July 19, 2024 , prior to HYDRA’s formation, will not be demolished , a position the authority has already stated multiple times.
Recently, HYDRA removed encroachments on lands meant for parks, roads, and public utilities in several ULC layouts in Kondapur village of Serilingampally mandal . Actions taken in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, OU Colony, and Raghavendra Colony were cited as examples. Additionally, a park in Gopal Nagar layout in Hydernagar of Kukatpally mandal was also protected.
At the same time, the authority warned the public against rumours claiming that HYDRA would seize unregularised plots in ULC layouts and hand them over to the government . It cautioned that such misinformation is part of a conspiracy to purchase land at undervalued prices .
