Illinois Employees Fail in Second Challenge to Covid Mandate - Bloomberg Law
Illinois state employees and contractors whose employers imposed a vaccine policy during the Covid-19 pandemic lost their second bid to challenge the mandates, the Seventh Circuit said.
The workers challenged an amendment to the state’s Health Care Right of Conscience Act, but because it’s a “‘declaration of existing law’ rather than ‘a new enactment,’” it “effected no change in Illinois law,” the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said in a Tuesday order, affirming the district court’s dismissal of their claims.
