Illinois-based Docs at the Door P.C. and its owner violated the False Claims Act by billing Medicare over $523,000 for home-visit physician services they didn’t provide, a federal district court said.
Whistleblower Roxanne Kline filed the original action in 2013, and the federal government intervened in 2017. The action was stayed pending resolution of a related criminal case against the owner, Ajibola Ayeni, who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of theft or embezzlement in connection with a health care benefit program in 2019.
