Indiana Hospital Beats State's Request for Abortion-Related Data - Bloomberg Law

An Indiana hospital defeated the state’s demand that it explain the process it used while searching for data related to an abortion study because there was no reason to believe the hospital hadn’t looked for the material in good faith, a federal trial court said.

An order requiring nonparty Thomas Jefferson University Hospital to prove the truth of its discovery responses—it found only one responsive document—wouldn’t fall within the scope of discovery permitted for nonparties to litigation, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana said.
