Industry Minister Files Complaint Against YouTubers Over Oil Diversion Claims - 조선일보

Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan announced that he has filed a police complaint against YouTube channel operators, including Jeon Han-gil, who raised the possibility that "900,000 barrels of oil may have flowed from Ulsan to North Korea via third countries such as China."

According to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources on the 1st, Minister Kim Jung-kwan filed the complaint the previous day with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. The complaint targeted operators of the YouTube channels 'Jeon Han-gil News,' 'Jeollado Uhoejeon,' and 'TV Jayu Ilbo,' accusing them of defamation through false statements and obstruction of business via false information. The complaint relates to their claims about the alleged diversion of "900,000 barrels of oil from Ulsan to North Korea via third countries such as China."

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources had previously warned on the 30th of last month through a press reference document: "Recently, some YouTube and social media platforms have raised the possibility that '900,000 barrels of oil may have flowed from Ulsan to North Korea via third countries such as China.' We clearly state that these claims are false. Spreading fake news undermines the government’s credibility and confuses the public, so the government will respond strictly and decisively using all available measures."
