Colts Neck High School’s Law & Public Service Program gives students the opportunity to intern at various organizations during their senior year. One of the internships available is at Lomurro Law, located in Freehold. Interns Lauren Zeltser and Matthew Wan are working with Attorney Sean Wirth for the spring semester.
Wirth graduated from the University of Rhode Island and from Widener University Delaware Law School. After graduation, he clerked at the Monmouth County Courthouse for one year. While he was initially supposed to be clerking in the criminal division, his judge was switched to the family division. Wirth said one of the main reasons he decided to continue working in family was because he “can make an impact on the lives of families and children.” He has been working in the family department at Lomurro Law since 2014.
This semester, Zeltser and Wan have been proofreading Wirth’s final brief for a trial he is working on. Zeltser said they have “been working on this case for a couple of weeks” and that they have “gotten really emotionally invested.”
The experience at Lomurro Law has left positive impressions on the interns.
“It’s very eye-opening to read a case like this and see what a real lawyer has to go through,” Wan said. “It has only made me want to become a lawyer more.”
