Investigation concludes St. Lawrence County DSS employees did not violate law - North Country Public Radio

The independent investigation of the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services has concluded.

The investigation focused on Child Protective Services, preventative services, and foster care and was the result of public complaints from parents and foster parents.

The Watertown Daily Times reports that legislators were given copies of the final report during a committee meeting on Monday.

In the same meeting, DSS director Joseph Seeber told the lawmakers that he has already created a plan to address the report's recommendations.

The audit concluded that no DSS employees had violated any laws. It concluded that the department needed to establish or clarify policies to improve transparency and documentation.
