Ioan Gruffudd submits court papers claiming ex Alice Evans made false claims in plea for cash to fans - The Mirror

Ioan Gruffudd allegedly claims that his ex Alice Evans was not 'broke' when she set up a GoFundMe page and begged fans for cash

Ioan Gruffudd has reportedly submitted court papers claiming his ex Alice Evans has been lying about her finances.

The former couple are the centre of one of Hollywood's most bitter divorce battles, with Alice, 56, previously alleging that she had been left unable to buy food or pay utility bills following their split. Just over two years ago, Alice reached out to fans when she launched a GoFundMe Page, asking for financial help.

The actress claimed she was "struggling as a single mother to my babies" and her bank accounts and savings have been "drained". She asked fans for "anything you can spare".

Alice received $6,974 in her fund, considerably less than her $25,000 target. In new court papers submitted by Ioan, 50, he claims that at the time she was asking for money from her followers, Alice had a total of $86,457 in available funds across two accounts.

He claims her UK account contained $78,740, while her American account had a balance of $7,717. On the GoFundMe Page she wrote: "I never in a million years thought I would be doing this. Until recently everything appeared to be going well in my life. I had a wonderful husband and two brilliant kids who had cost us the earth in IVF but were so worth it!
