Iowa Lakes Community College may have misspent hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal student aid funds, the state auditor has found.
Auditor Rob Sand's report, issued Feb. 24 at the request of the U.S. Department of Education, found that in a five-year sample of 168 students, Iowa Lakes may have improperly disbursed nearly $190,000 in tuition aid for classes that students did not attend.
