Iowa Law Increases Types, Amount of Work Permitted for Minors - Bloomberg Tax

Iowa minors may perform more types of jobs and work longer hours, under a bill that will go into effect on July 1.

Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) signed SF 542 into law on May 26.

Permitted Work Activities

Minors ages 13 and under may not be employed, under SF 452. Previously, certain minors under age 13 could be employed as migratory labor or in street occupations, such as newspaper delivery and shoe polishing.
