IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley says FBI witness who Dems say undercut his testimony was muzzled by the DOJ and - Daily Mail

IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley claimed on Tuesday that a retired FBI agent who spoke with the House Oversight Committee did not share all he knew about the Hunter Biden investigation because he was intimidated by the agency.

Oversight Democrats say that agent's testimony undercut that of Shapley, who testified before the committee on July 19.

Ahead of his July 17 testimony with the Oversight Committee, the anonymous, newly-retired agent received a letter from FBI general counsel Jason Jones warning him not to share information on any 'deliberations or ongoing investigative activity.'

'He was given a letter the Sunday before from DOJ basically telling him not to talk,' Shapley told Fox News on Tuesday after Devon Archer's closed-door deposition to the panel on Monday.

'I know that he could have confirmed additional material facts on this investigation,' Shapley said.

'And he did confirm the FBI headquarters notifying the transition team and Secret Service,' added Shapley, referring to claims that the FBI notified the Secret Service and Biden transition team that they planned to interview Hunter Biden in December 2020.

'But really that was the only thing that he was able to speak about.'
