WASHINGTON (TND) — The IRS whistleblower who came forward with concerns about how the Justice Department handled Hunter Biden’s case broke his silence Tuesday.
IRS agent Gary Shapley spoke first in an exclusive interview with CBS News. Shapley stood firm his stance the president’s son got special treatment during the federal investigation into his tax and gun crimes.
"If this was any other person they likely would have already served their sentence," said Shapley.
Shapley initially brought his concerns to Congress and testified before the House Ways and Means Committee in May. Republicans on the committee made the testimony public Thursday.
Shapley alleges the Justice Department roadblocked parts of their investigation saying, "There were certain investigative steps we weren’t allowed to take that could have led us to President Biden.
As part of his congressional testimony, Shapley shared a WhatsApp message from 2017 were Hunter Biden made demands from a Chinese associate, mentioning multiple times his dad was there next to him.
This associate, Henry Zhao, is a member of the Chinese Communist Party according to reporting by the New York Post.
Reporters continue to pressure the president on his involvement.
