Videos are going viral on social media claiming that President Donald Trump has raised the minimum wage to no less than $25 per hour. Videos with the claims flooded social media with thousands of views leaving people confused as to whether the President has indeed signed any order to raise the minimum wage. Times Now Digital can confirm that the claims are false as President Trump has not signed any order raising the minimum, nor has he announced plans to do so.

President Trump had announced back in December 2024 that he "would consider" raising the minimum wage, but, so far, has not taken any steps in that regard.

As of 2025, the federal minimum wage in the United States remains at $7.25 per hour, unchanged since 2009. However, many states have set higher minimum wages. For example, California's minimum wage is $16.50, Connecticut's is $16.35, and Washington's is $16.66. New York's minimum wage is $16.50 in New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County, and $15.50 elsewhere

In 2021, Joe Biden signed an executive order which raised the minimum wage for federal contractors to $17.75 per hour on January 1, 2025. However, on March 14, 2025, President Trump issued Executive Order 14236, which revoked EO 14026.
