For the first time, county employee Dr. Anna Goodloe is speaking publicly about her allegations of sexual harassment against Sheriff King, who has been indicted.
JOHNSON COUNTY, Texas — For the first time, the Johnson County employee whose complaint launched a Texas Rangers investigation into Sheriff Adam King is speaking publicly.
In an exclusive interview with WFAA, Dr. Anna Goodloe, the county’s training coordinator of 12 years, said King began sexually harassing her in 2023 after she lost weight due to a medical condition. She alleges the sheriff made repeated unwanted comments that left her emotionally and physically drained.
“In the beginning, it was in passing, ‘Hello, Dr. Skinny,’” Goodloe told WFAA. “Then it was wanting to ‘do ungodly things’ to me if I continued to lose weight. It’s cringey at best. I just wanna disappear, I wanna run down the hallway and close the door. I wanna get away from that, but I remained professional. One of my nervous tics is that I would laugh or giggle and walk off.”
Goodloe said she tried to avoid one-on-one interactions with King.
“I would wear sweaters to work, turtlenecks in the summer, cause I’m trying to disappear,” Goodloe said.
Goodloe said she initially avoided reporting the alleged harassment, fearing retaliation. At the time, the deputy chief of internal affairs encouraged her to come forward, but Goodloe said she feared King would retaliate against her.
