ITV This Morning insiders and whistleblowers sent bosses at the corporation e-mails about Phillip Schofield's affair with a younger lover, it is alleged. The letter, seen by , was apparently sent to ITV chief executive Carolyn McCall and Studios' managing director Julian Bellamy.
Excerpts of the note read: "With the current rumours and accusations swirling around about Phillip Schofield…why is he still on our screens? Why have ITV not suspended him pending an internal inquiry? I would have thought in this day and age that a mainstream broadcaster such as ITV ought to be seen to be doing all it can to deal with issues like this, find out where the truth lies and, in the meantime, suspend those who the rumours concern."
The e-mail also contained a YouTube clip detailing the alleged history between Schofield and his younger lover. It was said to have included screenshots of messages exchanged between the pair, as well as pictures and clips of the duo in public.

The whistleblower - who has not been identified by the Mail tonight - says neither McCall or Bellamy responded to this or multiple follow-up communications. The former staff member concluded: "Come on ITV – it's time to take action and do the responsible thing."
