K & P Janitorial Services was hit with a wage-and-hour class action on Aug. 18 in California Superior Court for Los Angeles County. The court action, brought by the Haines Law Group on behalf of janitors and other non-exempt, hourly-paid employees, arises the alleged failure to provide overtime wages or mandatory rest breaks. The complaint additionally contends that the defendant requires employees to download an app on their personal phones in order to clock in and out but fails to reimburse the class for cell phone use. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendant. The case is 23STCV19824, Miranda v. K & P Janitorial Services.
