Jared Leto denies claims that he sexually assaulted multiple women.
The Tron: Ares actor, 54, was accused of criminal sexual conduct by four women who alleged the offenses took place when they were all teenagers in a new BBC documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret.
In a statement shared with PEOPLE on Wed. July 29, Leto said, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”
One woman alleged she had sex with the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman at his home in California when she was 17 and he was 34, per the BBC. The legal age of consent in California is 18, meaning the act could be classified as statutory rape.
“It wasn’t a huge concern for him,” she claimed, per the outlet. “He told me, ‘I would like you to call me daddy.’ And it was either pretend to be a little girl or ‘my little girl.’ ”
A second woman detailed being allegedly sexually assaulted in a motel bathroom also at 17 years old, while a third said Leto threatened her with assault when she was 19.
