Three weeks after the JEA board firmly rejected board member Rick Morales' request for an outside review of toxic workplace allegations at the utility's headquarters, JEA announced it will launch an independent examination led by an outside law firm.
The move by JEA won't stop a recently formed City Council investigative committee from commissioning its own review. City Council member Ron Salem, who is chair of the committee, said only a survey completely separate from JEA will make employees comfortable about coming forward.
