A Melbourne woman who endured 18 months of stalking and harassment has learned the hard way that you can't choose your lover's ex, after she became caught in a cruel trap.
The lesson from hell saw Bronte Nugent, 29, set up as a criminal after she was falsely accused of kidnapping Sara Ezadyar, which then forced her into a battle for the truth.
Ms Nugent was arrested twice due to Ms Ezadyar's accusations and she was put through hours of interrogation.

"Sara pretended … her and her daughter were kidnapped, and that I had murdered them. And the Homicide Squad were sitting outside my house," Ms Nugent told A Current Affair.
In recorded interviews with Victoria Police, Ms Nugent was forced to deny numerous false accusations and said the ordeal caused her to live in "fear".
"It went from just calls to my phone getting disconnected … males calling me telling me to 'go kill myself' or they will ... I was getting my car window smashed - I had to get an escort from my work to my car at night," Ms Nugent recalled.
"I didn't know what Sara looked like (or), where she lived."
Ms Nugent said she was also accused of taking a photo of Ms Ezadyar walking her toddler in a pram before supposedly sending it to Ms Ezadyar, saying she was stalking her.
