Jeon Han-gil Questioned Again Over False Claims - 조선일보

Jeon Han-gil, a political YouTuber and former Korean history lecturer, who spread false information about President Lee Jae Myung and Reform Party leader Lee Jun-seok, and advocated the "1980 Gwangju Democratic Uprising North Korean military involvement theory," appeared for police questioning on the 23rd.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Metropolitan Investigation Unit investigated Jeon on charges of defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, violation of the Basic Telecommunications Act, and violation of the Special Act on the May 18 Democratization Movement, among others. This was his fourth investigation, following previous ones on February 12 and 27, and April 1.

Jeon arrived at the annex of Dongjak Police Station in Seoul around 10 a.m. He wore a white T-shirt emblazoned with the phrases “Re-election of Unfair Elections,” “Same-Day Voting and Multiple Vote Counting,” and the national flag.

Jeon was reported by the Democratic Party of Korea, etc., for remarks made on his YouTube channel last October. These included claims that President Lee had hidden 1 trillion Korean won in slush funds from the Daejang-dong project in Singapore and that there was an illegitimate child between President Lee and Kim Hyun-ji, the Office of the President’s personal secretary.
