Sport Squad agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that JOOLA falsely advertised its Gen 3 Paddles as being approved by the USA Pickleball Association.
The JOOLA settlement benefits consumers who own a JOOLA Gen 3 Paddle. This includes those who own a Tyson McGuffin Magnus 3 14mm, Tyson McGuffin Magnus 3 16mm, Collin Johns Scorpeus 3 16mm, Anna Bright Scorpeus 3 14mm, Simone Jardim Hyperion 3 16mm, Ben Johns Hyperion 3 16mm, Ben Johns Hyperion 3 14mm, Ben Johns Perseus 3 14mm or Ben Johns Perseus 3 16mm paddle.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim JOOLA falsely advertised its Gen 3 Paddles as being approved by the USA Pickleball Association. In reality, the paddles were not approved by the association.
JOOLA is a sports equipment company that sells pickleball paddles and other equipment.
Sport Squad has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the false advertising class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive either a refund or a gift code.
Class members who can provide proof of purchase can receive a refund of $300. Class members who cannot provide proof of purchase can receive a $150 gift code to be used on joola.com.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Dec. 15, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the JOOLA settlement is scheduled for Jan. 27, 2026.
