Jordan Transparency Center hosts workshop on whistleblower ... - Jordan News

AMMAN — The Jordan Transparency Center (JTC) organized a training workshop introducing whistleblower protection mechanisms to enhance anti-corruption efforts through capacity building and awareness on Thursday in Madaba, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The workshop, held at Prince Hashem Bin Abdullah II Youth City in Madaba, was titled "Strengthening Whistleblower and Witnesses Protection Systems in Corruption Cases" and was organized with the support of the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives.

Speaking at the event, Madaba Governor Nayef Al-Hdayat emphasized the importance of achieving transparency, combating corruption, and protecting whistleblowers in corruption cases.

His Majesty King Abdullah has stressed the need to provide whistleblower and witness protection in corruption cases by issuing new regulations to this end and keeping reports under strict confidentiality, Hdayat said.

Hilda Ejeilat of the JTC highlighted Jordan's efforts to combat corruption and its steps to protect whistleblowers and witnesses, noting that the Kingdom was the first Arab country to ratify the International Convention Against Corruption in 2004.
