WASHINGTON (Reuters) - J.P. Morgan Securities LLC has agreed to pay $18 million to settle allegations that it violated whistleblower protection rules, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said in a statement on Tuesday.
The J.P. Morgan Chase & Co unit impeded "hundreds of advisory clients and brokerage customers from reporting potential securities law violations" to financial regulators, the SEC said, adding that the company agreed to cease the alleged violations and pay the fine.
