Judge dismisses lawsuit by Omni Healthcare owner against Parrish - Florida Today

A federal judge sided with Parrish Medical Center in a whistleblower lawsuit filed by Dr. Craig Deligdish, owner of Melbourne-based Omni Healthcare, the latest development in a string of legal cases between Deligdish against the hospital.

The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida issued a summary judgment on Aug. 17 in Parrish's favor on all counts, ruling that Deligdish failed to back up his claims with evidence or legal support. The lawsuit had accused the hospital of violating federal and state false claims laws, though both the U.S. government and the state of Florida had already declined to join the case back in 2023.

"We're of course pleased with the court's ruling, in which Parrish has prevailed against another failed lawsuit brought against the hospital by Deligdish," said George Mikitarian, president and CEO of Parrish Healthcare. He added that the hospital remains focused on serving patients in North Brevard County.

This is just the latest in a long-running legal dispute with Parrish, which also include a failed eviction fight, a jury verdict against his company for breach of fiduciary duty, and an unsuccessful attempt to sue the law firm representing the hospital.
