A New Jersey Superior Court judge has dismissed a police lieutenant’s whistleblower lawsuit against the Hackensack Police Department that alleged the officer was retaliated against for complaining about the police director.

Lt. Anthony DiPersia claimed in court papers that the city’s newly-hired civilian police director, Raymond Guidetti, repeatedly violated state laws by carrying a service revolver and driving an unmarked vehicle equipped with emergency lights.

The lawsuit alleged police department supervisors harassed and intimidated DiPersia to the point where he developed “a deep-rooted fear” he would lose his job and his career would be ruined.
