Katy Perry denies Ruby Rose's "dangerous, reckless" and "categorically false" accusations of sexual assault - NME

Ruby Rose has accused Katy Perry of sexually assaulting her in a Melbourne club nearly 20 years ago, claims which Perry has denied and labelled as “dangerous, reckless lies”.

The model and Orange Is The New Black actor took to Threads to share the allegations, responding to a post discussing Perry’s reaction to Justin Bieber’s headline set at Coachella 2026.

“Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a shit what she thinks,” Rose wrote in the comments.

She also claimed that she “threw up on” the ‘Firework’ singer after the alleged assault, and “changed it to be a ‘funny little drunk story’” when she told people afterwards because she “didn’t know how else to handle it.”

“Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret,” she added. “But I DID tell y’all she wasn’t a good person.”

A representative for Katy Perry said: “The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies. Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
