Katy Perry has fired back at Ruby Rose after she claimed that the singer sexually assaulted her nearly 20 years ago.
“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies,” a rep for Perry, 41, said in a statement to In Touch on Monday, April 13. “Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
Rose, 40, posted the allegations via Threads the day prior.
“Katy Perry sexual [sic] assaulted me at spice market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s**t what she thinks?” Rose wrote in response to a post about a remark Perry made about Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance.
“I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly,” the Meg star continued in a separate post. “Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me.”
When another Threads user said, “You can’t just drop that bomb and then yeet outta here,” Rose gave more details.
