Kim Byung-kee Accuses Ex-Aides of Faking Whistleblower Claims - 조선일보

Democratic Party of Korea Floor Leader Kim Byung-kee addressed allegations against him, stating, “The informant is presumed to be a former aide who worked with me in the past and is pretending to be a public interest whistleblower through cunning rhetoric,” on the 25th.

Kim wrote on his Facebook page that day, “On December 4, 2024, the day after the illegal martial law incident, I learned of a secret chat room called ‘Yeouido Mattdori’ created by six aides.” He added, “Behind their hypocritical smiles, they were trivializing an insurrection, sexually harassing a female district council member through covert filming, and slandering me and my family with language too vile to repeat.”

Kim shared screenshots of the ‘Yeouido Mattdori’ Telegram chat room, stating, “I will disclose only a fraction. I have omitted or minimized severe profanity as much as possible.”

He continued, “On December 9, I notified the six aides of administrative dismissal,” explaining, “This was not due to personal conflict but because I directly confirmed conversations that utterly trampled the minimum dignity and decency expected of Democratic Party aides toward fellow humans.”

Kim emphasized, “Despite all responsibility lying with my own shortcomings, I cannot accept the distorted narrative that portrays former aides as absolute victims and me as an absolute perpetrator under a simplistic framework.” He added, “I will no longer hide the truth.”
