Kim Dongwan Threatens Legal Action Over False Claims - 조선일보
Group Shinhwa member and actor Kim Dongwan hinted at legal action regarding an exposé post by a former manager.
On the 23rd, Kim Dongwan stated through his social media, “The content currently being spread is false claims differing from the facts,” adding, “I will not comment on personal relationships. If the spread of false information continues, I will take all civil and criminal legal actions.”
Earlier, Netizen A claimed to be a former manager who worked with Kim Dongwan for a long time and alleged that Kim once conducted a live broadcast while intoxicated and got into a fight with fans.
Netizen A also stated, “When (Kim Dongwan) asked me to secure a musical because he needed cash, I directly contacted them to maximize his appearance fee, but he suddenly refused, leaving me in an awkward situation. He has been a bastard to me since then.”
It was reported that Netizen A wrote the exposé in anger after Kim Dongwan posted a supportive message for broadcaster MC Dingdong, who was accused of assaulting a female cast member during an online live broadcast.
It has not yet been confirmed whether Netizen A was indeed Kim Dongwan’s former manager.
Last month, Kim Dongwan also sparked controversy by publicly advocating for the legalization of prostitution.
Shinhwa, the group Kim Dongwan belongs to, debuted in 1998 and is one of the country’s longest-running idol groups, celebrating their 27th anniversary this year.
