Singer and actor Kim Min-jong filed a police complaint against rapper and producer MC Mong (Shin Dong-hyun) for allegedly spreading false information about him through an internet broadcast.
On the 2nd, Kim Min-jong’s legal representatives, Law Firm OhKims, stated that they filed the complaint the previous day with Seoul’s Jongno Police Station, accusing MC Mong of violating the Information and Communications Network Act (Defamation).
It was reported that on May 18, during an internet live broadcast, MC Mong made statements suggesting Kim Min-jong’s involvement in illegal gambling, receiving money and valuables, and witness tampering.
Kim Min-jong’s side stated, “Unfounded claims have damaged the reputation built over 38 years,” and “We have suffered actual damages, such as the suspension of discussions for upcoming projects and advertising contracts,” adding, “We will continue legal actions, including civil claims for damages.
