Actor Kim Soo-hyun, who had suspended his activities amid various allegations and disputes over the truth, will resume his career after about one year.
On June 8, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency Gold Medalist announced, “Kim Soo-hyun will be participating in a print advertisement shoot with the Philippine fashion brand Bench on July 14.” This shoot marks Kim’s first official schedule in approximately a year, following the suspension of his activities after last year’s controversy over his private life.
Last year, Kim Soo-hyun became embroiled in several allegations, including claims that he had dated the late Kim Sae-ron for six years starting in 2015 when she was 15 years old, as well as accusations of pressuring for repayment. In response, Kim Soo-hyun’s side held a press conference and denied the allegations, stating that “the relationship began after the late Kim became an adult.”
However, the controversy did not subside, and after the press conference, Kim Soo-hyun remained out of the public eye for about a year. Some brands for which Kim had served as a promotional model announced the termination of their contracts with him, and the Disney Plus series “Knockoff,” which was originally scheduled for release last year, was postponed indefinitely.
