Fans have stepped in directly over various rumors and distorted reports surrounding actor Kim Soo-hyun. As misunderstandings over the recently raised "cheating" allegations and past photos spread, fans warned of a tough response and moved to protect the actor.
On the 1st, the Kim Soo-hyun Korea and global fan union issued an official statement saying, “Baseless claims related to the actor continue to surface,” and appealed, “Stop the spread of unfounded speculation that is not true.” They added in a strong tone that “we will respond firmly to indiscriminate secondary harm and distorted reporting.”
Earlier, on the 30th of last month the YouTube channel Entertainment President posted a video titled “Why the bold move to publish a letter from Kim Soo-hyun’s ex? The unexpected truth behind the cheating allegations!” The video said Kim Soo-hyun is currently under extreme stress and has been hiking alone to steady himself. It was about six months since Kim Soo-hyun’s condition was last reported after the March press conference related to the late Kim Sae-ron.
However, the photo the YouTube channel released was actually a post Kim Soo-hyun uploaded to his social media in August 2022. Some media outlets reported it as a recently taken “current photo,” causing confusion, and when malicious comments like “who took the photo?” followed, fans stepped in directly.
